All supplies, except gloves, are provided by parent\/guardian.<\/li>\n<li>Disposable gloves are used for all changing of diapers.<\/li>\n<li>The Infant Room staff follows these guidelines when diapering:\n<ul>\n<li>When a child has soiled his\/her clothes, they are wrapped in a plastic bag and put in a cabinet out of the children\u2019s reach. The clothing is given to the parent\/guardian at pick up time . The infant is then dressed in their extra change of clothes.<\/li>\n<li>Infants are changed as necessary; in addition, all infants are checked every two hours as well as\u00a0after eating, before and after naps, and before they depart for the day.<\/li>\n<li>All information pertaining to bowel movements, etc., is noted on each infant\u2019s Daily Information Sheet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Hand Washing<\/h2>\n<p>The Infant Room staff use the following guidelines in hand washing.<\/p>\n<p>Adults wash their hands:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upon entering the Infant Room<\/li>\n<li>After diapering, nose blowing, before preparing any food, and before and after giving medication<\/li>\n<li>Before holding infants 3 months or younger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Children hands are washed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash as frequently as possible, since they spend much time on the floor<\/li>\n<li>Before and after receiving medications<\/li>\n<li>Before and after meals<\/li>\n<li>After diapering; wipes may also be used at diaper changing<\/li>\n<li>After playing outside<\/li>\n<li>Before playing in water table<\/li>\n<li>Before leaving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Toy Sterilization<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Toys in the Infant Room are sanitized daily and throughout the day as children use them.<\/li>\n<li>At the end of each day all the toys are washed, rinsed in a solution of\u00a0 sanitizer and allowed to air dry.<\/li>\n<li>All the equipment that cannot be washed is sprayed or wiped with\u00a0 sanitizer and allowed to air dry.<\/li>\n<li>At least once a week the stuffed animals and puppets are machine washed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Diapering At the diapering area, all the supplies needed for diapering a child (diapers, wipes, creams, etc.) are available and labeled with the child\u2019s name.
