We ask parents/guardians to leave their children’s toys at home or in the car. Sometimes it’s difficult to share favorite toys and there’s always the chance that it may be broken.
If your child has a toy that gives them comfort, or that they would like to show their friends, they have the opportunity before breakfast to use something from home. At breakfast time they will be asked to put their toys in their cubbies for safe keeping.
The Center has found that action figures, guns, swords, and other types of toy weapons in the classroom tend to be disruptive and present a concern about safety. In a group setting, they appear to stimulate aggressive behavior. For these reasons, they are not allowed at the center.
